Dive into Waterwise and Sewerwise talks. Join us as we delve into the world of water, exploring how we supply clean, fresh, wholesome water and treat wastewater and recycle wastewater for 4.7 million customers across our region.

What the talks cover

The tailored talks offer a deep dive into what it takes to supply fresh, clean water to your taps, and how wastewater is treated before being safely returned to the environment. To book a free talk at your school or community group, please fill out this application form. As all our speakers are Community Ambassadors, please give six weeks' notice when requesting a talk.

Waterwise talks

Let’s get water wise. Take part in discussions about your clean water supply and the importance of water conservation. These engaging sessions are led by education ambassadors. Topics can include.  
•    Household water usage.
•    The journey of water from source to tap.
•    The water cycle.
•    Climate change's impact on water.
•    Easy ways to save water, energy, and money.

Sewerwise talks

Let's get sewer wise. Explore what happens to your wastewater after you flush the loo and learn how we can all play a role in preventing flooding and pollution in our communities. Our engaging talks will cover:
•    How the Victorians built the sewerage system.
•    Where our wastewater goes.
•    The challenges with non-flushable items, like wet wipes. 
•    Explores the 3p’s Pee, Poo & Paper. 
•    How we can slow the flow of rainwater, to reduce storm overflows.
