Lancing sewer pipe lining works update

Work to reline the sewer in West Way, Lancing is close to completion and will help prevent flooding and provide extra resilience to the sewer network in the area.

Work to reline the sewer in Lancing, in West Sussex, is now nearing completion.

The project in West Way will help prevent flooding and provide extra resilience to the sewer network in the area.

The next stage is that the footpaths, pits and bays will be reinstated over the coming weeks.

Chief Customer Officer for Southern Water, Katy Taylor said:

“We recognise that these important works in Lancing have been hugely disruptive to residents and we’re sorry this has taken longer than expected.

“We’re glad to now say that the main piece of work has come to a close and our focus will now be fixing the roads and footpaths.

“Overall, we’re investing over half a million pounds in the community through extra repairs ,jetting the drains, removal of annual wastewater charges, and goodwill gestures

“I would like to thank residents and the local community for their patience and understanding during this time.”

The exact details and timetable of the reinstatement works is still being worked out because of the legal parameters some of the roads affected are private. We will communicate this clearly to residents in more detail over the coming weeks.
